Exeter

Exeter is a historic city situated in the South West of England. The city is famous for the beautiful Cathedral, interesting history and the football club Exeter City Football club. The city’s museum is called The Royal Albert Memorial Museum. The castle has an interesting history and appears in one of William Shakespeare’s plays, Richard III.

Exeter people are friendly and open, they enjoy eating scones, drinking tea, watching the rugby and football and shopping in the city’s busy commercial centre. The University of Exeter is located on two sites (or campuses) which are surrounded by beautiful open green areas.

The weather in Exeter is very English! The warmest month is July when temperatures are an average 21ºc but with cooler rainy days. The winter is wet and cold; January is the coldest month with average temperatures of around 8ºc.

In the city centre there are many shops and commercial centres to visit. Many people travel in to Exeter from the surrounding towns and villages to work and visit the shops.

Exeter has its own airport, two train stations, a bus station and a canal. The city has convenient links to Devon County and the South West of England.
